Job Description

Summary

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Innovation Center in Huntsville to design, prototype, integrate, and test Unmanned Systems and Munitions. These development efforts require system-level thinking and collaboration across disciplines, technology areas, and product lines.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Requirements definition

  • Conceptual design

  • Development/Prototyping

  • Subsystem and system testing

  • Flight testing

  • Troubleshooting

  • Data analysis

  • Supporting design reviews and other technical meetings

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science in any of the following fields: Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Relevant experience with aircraft, unmanned systems, and/or munitions

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers

  • Experience in:

  • Electrical system architecture

  • Cable/Harness drawings

  • Electrical and avionics component selection

  • Supporting the design and testing of complex systems

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies:

  • Master’s Degree is a plus

  • Relevant hands-on experience is highly preferred (design/build/fly, RC aircraft, pilot)

  • Experience in the following areas is a plus:

  • RF / datalinks

  • Motor, motor controllers and servos

  • Autopilots and companion computers, particularly NVidia processors

  • Embedded software

  • Must be a team player and collaborate effectively

  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills

  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties

  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meeting project/company objectives.

  • Focuses on teamwork and puts the success of the team above one’s own interests.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software

  • Proficiency with MATLAB and appropriate design software

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)

  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and lab equipment (Frequent)

  • Travel: 10-25% travel is expected to support meetings and test events.

  • AV Work Locations: Huntsville, AL

The salary range for this role is:

$91,660 - $137,490
