Summary

The Field Service Representative Mechanic II maintains the Jump20 in the field as a Jump20 Mechanic (Mech). Duties will primarily take place in deployed conditions. In this role, one ensures all Jump20 flight and ground operations follow established procedures and are conducted safely. The FSR MECH II works in conjunction with Flight Operations Managers, Mechanic Leads, Site Leads, and other Field Operations Supervisors/Managers under the Sr. Director of Field Operations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Conducts maintenance on the Jump20 aircraft.

  • Ensures all system flight and ground operations follow established procedures and are conducted safely.

  • Conducts all necessary equipment, and material inventories.

  • Immediately advises supervisors, customer representatives, and controlling authorities of any changes affecting the planned flight operations.

  • Maintains proper operational status of Jump20 and supporting operational systems.

  • Maintains proper currencies for flight and maintenance-related tasks and Annual Qualification Exams.

  • Continually re-evaluates risk assessments & take appropriate actions to mitigate any elevated risk levels.

  • Completes all documentation required for flight operations, equipment operational status, data collection, and post-flight procedures.

  • Captures critical information for input into after-action reports and lessons learned databases.

  • Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.

  • Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Deployment rotations are typically a combination of 4 months onsite with 2 months offsite or 3 months onsite with 3 months offsite.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Currently or previously qualified as a Jump20 aircraft Mechanic.

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education in the Jump20 or similar aircraft.

  • Prior military experience or equivalent training experience in an aircraft / aerospace manufacturing firm.

  • Demonstrated understanding of military tactics, operations, GPS, and Navigation utilizing map and compass

  • Experienced interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, blueprint or sketches.

  • Demonstrated computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel) and proficiency with productivity tools.

  • Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment.

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a US Passport.

  • Because of various out-of-area training/maintenance requirements, must be available on both short and long-term deployments away from home, both CONUS and OCONUS consisting of up to 100% travel.

  • Active SECRET or TS Clearance level

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

  • Prior military instructor/Special Operations experience highly desirable.

  • Prefer Special Forces, SEAL, Special Tactics, Ranger, Force Recon / MARSOC, Scout, Forward Observer, TACP, or Aviation backgrounds.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills with which to solve various degrees of complex problems.

  • Works well with little or no supervision and exercise independent judgment on a regular basis.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills as well as interpersonal skills. Works well with others across disciplines.

  • Focuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests.

Physical Demands

  • Lift and/or move between 11-20 lbs. of cases of varying size (Frequent).

  • Lift up to 50 pounds as well as objects of varying sizes for shipment to & set up at various customer training sites (Occasional).

  • Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and traverse across uneven ground and varying terrain (Constant).

  • Stand and/or sit for long periods of time (Frequent).

  • Balancing, handling, fine manipulation and grasping (Frequent).

  • Good manual dexterity to assemble and disassemble product (Frequent).

  • Crouching, reaching and keying (Frequent).

  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, feeling, overhead lifting (Occasional).

  • Accustomed to isolation and is expected to work long irregular hours, weekends and holidays and in difficult situations, environments and watches.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English

  • Able to pass medical screening, background investigation and drug test.
